Series of Assaults
Since the beginning of the full-scale conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military personnel have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.
This latest event comes after other high-profile incidents, including:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov perished in late 2024 when a bomb hidden on a scooter was set off from a distance.
While a source from Ukraine in the past attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such assertions are never officially confirmed as a matter of policy.
The conflict has been marked by clandestine operations moving into the center of the Russian capital.
The investigation into General Sarvarov's death remains active.
