Barcelona Set to Play Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
