David Raya Praises Team's Strength as Key to Multiple Trophy Challenge

David Raya has declared that intense competition for starting positions is driving Arsenal's exceptional form, with the goalkeeper confident that the team's roster under Mikel Arteta is so incredible that they can challenge for several trophies throughout the campaign.

Stunning Wins Highlight The Gunners' Strength

Arsenal's recent comprehensive win over Atlético Madrid represented their sixth straight victory and 10th success in a dozen games. Having let in just three goals—the fewest at this point in the club's history—they have secured a one-point lead at the Premier League summit and a flawless start in the European competition after three matches.

Rotation and Depth Key to Success

Raya has featured in almost all matches, aside from one Carabao Cup fixture, but Arteta has consistently rotated the team following heavy spending on recruits. When asked about chasing multiple trophies, Raya responded, "Absolutely, I believe so. Our squad strength is incredible. There are numerous options who can excel in multiple roles."

For instance, against Atlético, a teammate was introduced as a striker and can also play as a central midfielder or attacking midfielder. That versatility is what the boss has, and it's being utilized to our advantage. It's looking extremely promising, and that depth is very important for us.

Competition Drives Standards

Raya added, "That provides an extra level in practice and matches because if you slack off, your place is at risk instantly. It creates healthy competitiveness in training and during matches, which is really, really important, and everyone is on board."

Strong Defense a Collective Effort

The team have let in just a single goal from regular play this season, and the keeper has faced only one shot on target in their last three wins against three opponents.

"It's a collective effort from the striker to the goalkeeper," he said. "Each player is committed, no one wants to concede, and the goal is to cut out passes prior to it crossing the midfield. By winning it back, it allows a fast break. This is essential for everyone to feel this mentality, and opponents aren't creating many chances, which is ideal."
