The loved ones of teenagers lost after a tragic inferno at a establishment in a Switzerland's alpine town are confronting an excruciating wait for official news and appealing for clues about their loved ones via social media.
The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Verified video depict the roof structure igniting as beverages with fireworks are raised in celebration.
Emergency services have indicated that it could take considerable time to identify the victims of the disaster, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and hurt another 119.
