Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete

The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and were in communication with the league office.

The team did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.
