The beloved crime series AC-12 will make a comeback for its 7th season, announced by the broadcaster.

An upcoming six-part series created by the show's creator will begin filming in Belfast in the coming months, as confirmed by the network.

Vicky McClure expressed excitement about the comeback, stating she was "thrilled" about the series' return. Adrian Dunbar remarked, "What a joy it is to know that the main trio will be reuniting together soon."

The previous series wrapped up in 2021 with a final episode that drew in over 17 million audience members. Rumors about a new season have been widespread ever since, but official word only came this week.

New Challenges for The Team

The seventh season will open with AC-12 no longer existing and rebranded as the new police oversight body, according to the announcement.

Martin Compston's character, Vicky McClure's role, and Adrian Dunbar's part remain tasked to combat misconduct within the law enforcement.

The team's mission "faces unprecedented challenges", and under these circumstances, these officers are assigned their "most sensitive case to date."
