He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the LAPD.

A legal directive issued a security hold on the cases to restrict the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" connected to the active case.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the result of homicide, with a public database noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
