Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the pair.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Enough time has passed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began spending more time together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the film, commenting that he doesn't recollect "a single day without laughter".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the LAPD.

A legal directive issued a security hold on the cases to restrict the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" connected to the active case.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the result of homicide, with a public database noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Aftermath and Reactions

After the killings, public figures offered divergent responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing controversial claims that were broadly criticized by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the detractors recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan described the remarks as "disturbing" and remarked they showed a worrisome absence of compassion.

Rogan finished by suggesting that an associate ought to have stepped in when the impulse to speak on the death was made.
