Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, police said.
A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
